Hi there all,
It has taken a few days to get a post up after arriving - sorry about that. We had a moderately horrible trip over, although it actually went pretty well as we expected. Singapore airlines once again proved to me that they are an excellent airline - helping us carry baggage on board while we were struggling with the kids and being generally fantastic about helping us with anything and everything. Even so... I can imagine that none of you reading this will envy us travelling for 34 hours with two small children, and well, you should not.
So.. we are here now and adjusting to the new time zone - some of us better than others, Christiaan and Liam have been having a tough time of it with waking in the night etc, and we will be glad when they have settled into the new time properly. We have been staying with Ann - my stepmother - which is great, and my brother lives around the corner. We have already had a birthday party (with a mobile petting zoo, which certainly scored some points for New Zealand with the boys) and another day with my brother which has been very nice after all these years. Christiaan finds it especially exciting since his Uncle has a dog which he has quickly taken to... we will offer ourselves as dog sitters I think and hope this is enough for him...
We are currently looking at buying a car, finding a place to live, and jobs. More work done on the car and living quarters at the moment, hopefully we can get those settled next week and then we can focus on putting ourselves about a bit in the job market.....
Wish us luck....
Jols, Inge, Christiaan and Liam.
